1. Poor planning of your vineyard

8. Choosing the unsuitable shoots when pruning

Choosing the mistaken shoot can have a direct affect on the crop size. Use only strong, properly matured shoots as bearers for subsequent season’s crop. If you cane prune, this is even more important!

9. Not coaching the vine the right way.

This is by far the most important mistake, dwelling grape growers make and it will influence the vine for the rest of its life. The coaching of a younger vine have to be done properly because the training method you use, will make the framework of your vine.

10. Knowledge!

OK so even probably the most experienced grape grower, still learns new things each single day, but you will need to teach yourself the basic knowledge of the grape vine, before you start growing one.
