There has been a consistent increasing trend of website and blog publications for a long time now. This is great because this just means that there will be more information and services that are available for everyone through the internet; and it’s just a click away. With all the websites and blogs that have been produced these days it’s pretty challenging to find someone who does not have one themselves. Most people have even grown their sites into a great side business to make a little extra money by monetizing their content. Monetizing a website is easy enough to achieve through advertisements and affiliate marketing programs.
Web design has been a passion of mine for a couple years now, and one general type of question that I’ve been asked and heard thrown a round a lot is, how can you make more money from your websites? The answer to this question is simple, just increase the number of visitors that come to your site. Similar to real estate, the key to increasing your site’s traffic and earnings is location, location, location. Think of it like this; if you own a business and had a choice between having your store located on a back road, or a road that’s directly off the highway which would you choose? The road off the highway is the obvious answer, and the same exact concept can be applied to websites. Identical websites can increase or decrease their traffic relative to the site’s location.
Using our example, let’s say that a search engine is the highway. If someone is doing a search using a keyword that’s relevant to your site’s content you will definitely want your site listed on the first page of websites, and not ten pages back among other search results. Search engine optimization (SEO) is imperative to successfully increasing your site’s ranking and traffic.
The more visitors that regularly visit your sites, among other things, can significantly increase the amount of money that your advertisement campaigns earn on a monthly basis. If advertisements are relevant to the website or blog’s content, in addition to having many visitors substantially increases the chances of making money through advertisements and affiliate marketing programs.
With some time, effort, and hard work it is definitely possible to get your website listed on google page one. Just remember to do research and to learn as much as possible about how search engines index and rank websites. Also, be aware that there are programs and products available that say that it will increase page ranking and traffic to your website or blog. Some of these programs can be extremely costly and turn out not to work. So always do your due diligence before making any large investments in SEO programs.
